Chinese teams set three world records at Asian Para Championships
China set new world records for the recurve open mixed team, compound women open team and compound open mixed team ranking rounds as Chinese archers dominated qualification at the 2019 Asian Para Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
Lin, Zhou and Li Xinru also added 30 points to the compound women’s open team qualifying world best. That record now sits at 2067.
All six individual top seeds at the championships were taken by Chinese para athletes.
These championships also act as a continental qualification tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. China has already qualified 11 quota places for the Games – leading all nations – but can add one more spot in the compound women’s event in Bangkok.
The 10 Paralympic places available will be awarded on Friday 25 October. Asian champions will be crowned on Thursday 24 October.
The 2019 Asian Para Archery Championships take place on 20-25 October in Bangkok, Thailand.
